The IFA 2026 has opened its doors in Berlin.
From 4. Until September 8, 2026, the Messe Berlin site will once again become an important meeting point for new technology, artificial intelligence, smart home, gaming and household appliances.
AI capabilities are increasingly being integrated directly into devices.
Televisions optimize picture and sound.
Smartphones edit photos.
Household appliances are also becoming smarter.
The exciting question is therefore increasingly:
Where do we really need AI?
If at some point the fridge says that pizza is no longer allowed at 2 a.m., we at VoltFM draw a clear line.
Humanoid systems in particular have made progress in recent years.
In the long term, such systems could be used in industry, logistics or other areas, for example.
Lamps, heaters, cameras, door locks, speakers, televisions and household appliances can increasingly communicate with each other.
Ideally, this will make a lot of things easier.
In practice, Smart Home sometimes ends with you having to spend ten minutes trying to figure out why the lamp is suddenly offline.
The IFA has a long history around consumer electronics.
New display technologies, higher brightness, better colors and AI image processing remain important topics.
Of course, we at VoltFM also look at gaming. 🎮
Gaming and classic consumer technology are growing ever closer together.
Monitors achieve high refresh rates.
TVs get gaming modes.
Handheld devices are making PC gaming more mobile.
The history of the IFA goes back to the 1920s.
At that time, radio and broadcasting were major technologies of the future.
Radio
TV.
Computer
Internet.
smartphones.
Streaming
Artificial intelligence.
The development within a century is enormous.
Before the name VoltFM existed, Jannikjbi was already experimenting with web radio.
Among other things, the laut.fm station jannikjbifm was created.
In 2026 the idea finally arose to start all over again.
Humanoid robots, artificial intelligence and machines that even play football: IFA 2026 shows how quickly robotics is becoming more suitable for everyday use. We look at the most exciting developments and the question of how close the future actually is.
